Index Insight
Methodology
Index Insight explains an index or ETF move by estimating how its largest constituent holdings contributed over the current trading window.
The trading window
Each result compares two consecutive closes on the fund's own exchange calendar. While the fund is trading, the end of the window is the latest available price; after it closes, results remain fixed at that completed session's close.
Holding contributions
For every holding, we use the last available local-market price at or before each boundary. Prices are converted into the fund's currency before calculating the return, so foreign-exchange movements are reflected in the contribution.
A holding's contribution is its portfolio weight multiplied by its return, shown in basis points.
Coverage and residual
The table focuses on the largest holdings. The residual captures the estimated contribution of holdings outside that displayed set, along with any small difference between the displayed attribution and the fund move.
